Based in San Francisco, with a growing presence in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Studio Montemayor creates bespoke interiors that bridge high design with approachable comfort. We believe a home should reflect the people who inhabit it, creating a considered backdrop for the way they live.

Unbound by a singular aesthetic, our work is stylistically diverse and deeply attuned to our clients, yet unified by a sense of refinement and attention to detail. Whether working within a restrained palette or embracing a fearless use of color, we seek to create interiors that are distinctive yet enduring, with an intuitive practicality that makes living in them feel effortless.

We believe the best projects are built on strong collaboration. Rather than defining our work by a particular scale or scope, we prioritize projects where there is a shared point of view, mutual trust, and an enthusiasm for the process. We see our clients as active collaborators and believe that designing a home should be enjoyable.

REGINA PÉREZ MONTEMAYOR

PRINCIPAL & FOUNDER

Regina Pérez Montemayor founded Studio Montemayor in 2016, drawing on a background in interior architecture and years of experience across residential and hospitality design.

Raised between cultures and shaped by formative years spent living in Mexico City and France, Regina developed an early interest in the way architecture and art can express a sense of place. She went on to study Interior Architecture, developing an equal appreciation for the creative and technical sides of the discipline, from the development of an initial idea to the precision required to bring it into being.

Regina began her career at Hart Howerton, working on large-scale residential and hospitality projects around the world, before joining Nicole Hollis as a Lead Project Designer, where she oversaw the design of hotels and restaurants. Together, these experiences established a rigor and precision that continue to inform the studio’s work today.

With Studio Montemayor, Regina returned her focus primarily to residential interiors. Her work is guided by the belief that each project should develop its own identity, resulting in spaces that feel collected, considered, and deeply individual. Alongside the studio’s residential practice, she continues to take on select hospitality projects that offer the opportunity to create equally immersive environments.
